The preparation work before installing manual butterfly valve.
1、Install the valve in time after opening, and do not loosen any fastening screws or nuts on the valve at will. To facilitate maintenance, it is recommended not to install upside down.
2, butterfly valve flange installation needs to ensure that the gap between the flange surface and the sealing rubber pair, the screws should be tightened evenly and the sealing surface needs to fit completely; if the screws are tightened unevenly there will be a rubber bump stuck on the butterfly plate, or the top of the plate causing stem leakage.
The installation steps of manual butterfly valve are as follows.
1、First remove the damaged or rusty valve.
2、Place the valve between the two pre-installed flanges.
3、The bolt nuts at both ends are gently inserted into the corresponding flange holes at both ends (flanged butterfly valve needs to adjust the gasket position), and the nuts are slightly tightened to correct the plane of the flange surface.
4、Use spot welding of the flange on the pipe.
5、Fully weld the flange to fix on the pipe.
6、Reinstall the valve after the weld port cools down, make sure the valve has enough space to move on the flange to prevent the valve from being damaged and ensure the valve plate has a certain degree of opening (flange butterfly valve needs to add gasket); correct the valve position and tighten all the bolts (be careful not to tighten them too much); open the valve to ensure the valve plate can open and close freely, then make the valve plate open slightly.
7、Cross balance to tighten all the nuts.
8、Confirm once again that the valve can open freely, note: make sure the valve plate does not touch the pipeline.
